Testing and Measuring Pays Off

"Why Testing and Measuring Your Business Marketing Pays Off — Big Time!"
Dear Business Owner,
Scott Wilson here, wow hard to believe 2009 is 20 days old already. Seriously where does time go these days?
In today’s email I’m going to share with you some testing and measuring results from my own business including showing you a sales letter that’s converting at 8.62%.
If you own an online or offline business this is going to be a good marketing lesson and one you can implement in your own business pretty easy.
Firstly though I have a quick question for you. Do you actually test and measure your business marketing efforts?
You see yesterday I sent all the customers that have brought my new product “2009 Cash Flow Creator” Pack a copy of my “Marketing Tracking Spreadsheet”. I personally use this “Marketing Tracking Spreadsheet” to track and measure what’s working and what’s not in my marketing.
I don’t know about you, but I used to get so frustrated at not really know if my marketing was working. Well that all changed as soon as I started tracking it. In fact it gave me back my focus because very quickly in just a matter of weeks I could see where I was getting the best return for my marketing dollars.
Have you ever felt a little confused about whether your marketing and advertising efforts are really working?
If have then start today by asking everyone who contacts your business “How did they hear about us?” — Do this for a month and you’ll soon get a picture of where and how customers are finding you.
Sounds simple and it is but most businesses don’t do it.

Ok here are some testing results from my new “2009 Cash Flow Creator” product — the sales letter for this product is converting at 8.62%. Which means for every 100 visitors I get to this sales page I generate 8.62 sales.

My average dollar sale is $253 because I’m actually offering 2 packages which means some customers invest in the silver package at $197 and some invest in the gold package at $347. (Quick tip: if you’re selling anything always offer your customers options as some customers will always want to invest in the more expensive option because of the better value it represents to them.)
Here’s the kicker though — I’m split testing the headlines on both sales pages and one sales page is converting 4 times better than the other. And the only thing difference on the 2 sales page are the headlines.
You see unless I tested this I could have been potentially throwing money away without even knowing it. However testing and measuring headlines gives me the power to know what’s working and what’s not — this is when marketing and writing sales copy gets fun.
Once I’ve found the headline that sales the most, I’ll start testing price — which basically means I’ll put the price up until sales slow down.
Check out this sales page and see if you can see why it’s converting at 8.62%. — better still grab yourself a copy of “2009 Cash Flow Creator” products and use it to make your business some much need cash flow in 2009.
